About Johnathan
Johnathan Baldauf is a proud graduate of Timberline High School. He graduated from Boise State University with a political science and criminal justice degree before continuing his education at the UC Davis School of Law. After receiving his law degree, he started a Boise based law firm focusing on criminal defense and family law. Johnathan has spent his career working to protect citizens' constitutional rights. Outside of work, Johnathan enjoys spending time with his wife Shannon, playing trivia, enjoying the beautiful foothills, and honing his gardening skills.
Why Johnathan is Running
Through his experience, Johnathan has learned that many defendants' underlying issues go unaddressed, contributing to a cycle of re-offending. This is mainly due in part to the shortcomings of the current County Prosecutor’s office and their failures to serve victims, make vital connections to the community, and protect the rights of the defendants. He recognizes the importance of tackling root causes, such as mental health issues and addiction, rather than solely focusing on punitive measures. Johnathan believes that effective communication, accountability for law enforcement, and prioritizing the needs of victims should be the key focus of a successful prosecutor’s office.
